Our story
Thirty-two years at the bench
Julien Nibosi spent thirty-two years at a bench in Besançon making watches he could defend to the person paying for them. He never ran a sale, never took an investor, and never put his name on work he did not finish himself.
He was twenty-four when he took that bench, in a town that had been making watches since 1793. He learned the trade the slow way, from men who measured in tenths of a millimetre and threw away anything that missed. One rule came out of those years and never left: nothing leaves the bench unless it is worth its price the day it ships. Not almost. Not close.
By 2011 he could have built cheaper. Everyone around him was. The savings were always in the same places — the parts nobody inspects, the finishing nobody photographs, the seconds of work nobody would miss. He kept paying for all of it, and kept the prices where they were.
In 2026 his hands stopped being steady enough for the tolerances the work demands. Not the eyes, not the patience — the hands. He was offered the obvious way out: keep the name, let other people do the work. He said no.
What remains is the final collection — everything finished before the bench went quiet, released once, at up to 80% off. There will be no second collection.
No restock. No reissue.
Every piece here was finished before the workshop closed. When it is gone, it is gone — not sold out, not back in three weeks. Gone.
